Our Process and Sustainability
We use non toxic, water based and OEKO-Tex certified safe reactive inks on all natural fibres. We cannot print to polyester or nylon. We only print on continuous rolls of fabric and NOT direct to garment or directly onto finished products like tea towels or hemmed scarves.
Our process has been developed through years of testing and research to achieve vibrant colour and deep fibre penetration while maintaining a soft and fluid handle. Our printing is made to last through wash and wear - even our silk and wool is washable and won't fade through normal use.
We are constantly considering ways in which we can reduce our carbon and waste footprints. Some of the ways we currently achieve that is by:
- Printing small quantities as needed
- Only using natural fibres without plastic
- Using compostible packaging where possible
- Recycling used cardboard core
- Disposing of waste ink
- Dyeing all faulty printed fabric to be reused
The major ways in which we plan to extend our sustainability efforts in 2024:
- Install a water tank
- Develop a water filtering system for reusing wash off water
- Install solar power
